Sugar pastes can become unusable in two ways: they can become spent (overused) or melted.
How to know if CLEOPATRA Sugar Paste has started to melt?
If the sugar paste sticks to your skin, making it difficult to lift, don’t worry—this indicates that the paste has melted, and it can be easily restored.
There are several reasons why sugar paste may begin to melt:
If you have high body temperature or bioenergy, avoid direct contact with the sugar paste by using gloves or a spatula. This minimizes heat transfer from your hands to the paste.
Alternatively, consider using firmer sugar paste, instead of softer ones.
If the room where Oriental epilation is performed is too warm and humid, and the sugar paste begins to melt, try cooling the space with an air conditioner.
If cooling isn’t an option, opt for firm CLEOPATRA Sugar Pastes, as they maintain their flexibility longer in warmer conditions.
Water is sometimes used during preparation to soften sugar paste, but adding too much can cause it to melt. Similarly, during hair removal, excess sweat or moisture can have the same effect. This is especially relevant when treating areas prone to sweat, such as the bikini area, armpits, and upper lip.
If your hands tend to sweat, use gloves to reduce moisture exposure.
You can restore melted sugar paste using the following techniques:
Sprinkle body powder over the melted sugar paste to absorb excess moisture. Once the powder is mixed in, the paste will regain its consistency, allowing you to lift it and continue with the treatment.
Mix the melted sugar paste with a fresh piece to restore its texture:
After blending the melted paste with the fresh piece, you’ll be able to lift it from the skin and proceed with the hair removal.
If the melted sugar paste is already full of hairs and dead skin cells, it’s best not to recover it. Instead, use a strip to remove it from the skin and dispose of it. Then, continue with a new piece of CLEOPATRA Sugar Paste for the remainder of the treatment.
Note: It’s better to identify and resolve the cause of melting rather than relying on frequent recovery methods.
