How to Properly Massage Sugar Paste on the Body

Cover the Roots

Begin by massaging the sugar paste onto the area where you wish to remove hair. While massaging, ensure the paste captures the base of each hair at its root, rather than just the hair’s surface.

Breaking Point

When you reach the end of the applied sugar paste, slowly lift your hand away from the skin and the paste. Move your hand gently in the opposite direction of hair growth, keeping it close and parallel to the skin, until the sugar paste in your hand separates (or “breaks”) from the paste on the client’s skin. Once the separation is complete, return to the starting position.

Repeat

Massage the CLEOPATRA Sugar Paste over the area 2 to 4 times to ensure that all hairs are thoroughly covered and immersed. The massaging process should feel soothing and relaxing for the client, enhancing their experience.

Stiff Hands

Relaxation is key during the treatment. Stiff hands not only make the process more challenging but can also indicate a lack of confidence. Remember, Oriental epilation is a simple and effective technique when done correctly, so staying relaxed is essential.

Massaging Only on the Hair Surface

Avoid massaging the sugar paste only on the surface of the hairs, as this will pull the hair tips and cause discomfort. Instead, massage the paste onto the skin itself to lift the hairs from the root, allowing the paste to reach the base of the hairs. Use the tips of your fingers or the edge of a spatula for precise application.

Failing to Break the Sugar Paste Properly

Allow the sugar paste to separate smoothly on its own by guiding it to the end of the stroke. Forcing the paste to break too soon or using too much force can lead to discomfort, skin redness, and, in severe cases, bruising.

Too-Long Hairs

Long hairs can cause discomfort during the massaging process, as the sugar paste may get tangled with neighboring hairs. This lack of control can lead to discomfort as the hairs are overstretched.
